TWO TENS WILL GET YOU A HIGH FIVE..........

Two bottles of good wine that will cost you about or less than twenty smackers and get high fives from your friends and family. At least it will just get them high!!

Yes that's right! Here are two wines that will set you back less than twenty smackers! Even better they are darn good drinkin bottles of the grape nectar! Our first tasty selection is the recently enjoyed Megapanos Savatiano 2005. This is a very nice, dry, crisp, light and fruity wine. This wine goes well with your lips when you want a nice cool white wine! This wine come from the Attica area of Central Greece. The savatiano grape is used extensively as the base for that really famous Greek wine; Retsina. Retsina is a wine that tastes much better in Greece, with Greek food and after you have already had several drinks or ouzos to start with. Anyways the Megapanos Savatiano is a delightful table wine that goes well with seafood, fish, Thai food, chicken, salads, Chinese food, peanuts, cheese & fruit. It pretty much goes well with anything except for meat dishes & Mexican food. It is quite similar to the popular pinot grigios such as the Santa Margherita except for the price. We have seen the prices range from $8.56 - $12. You will enjoy drinking this wine with your lips! Yes drink the wine, don't do that sippy sip thing!

Which brings us to our second tasty treat

This is a Rex Goliath Free Range Pinot Noir 2001. This red wine happens to go very well with meat, pizza, shish kebab, lamb, ham sandwich, Beefaroni, pastas, pigs in blankets, burgers and Mexican food (OK, only if you run out of beer). You can even drink this while you are typing a blog! As a matter of fact I am having some right now. This wine is from the Central Coast area of California. The darn cat keeps trying to get into the wine. Not sure if its the wine or the drawing of the big 47 lb rooster on the label. Hold on there Tonto, cats cant read. Well they aint supposed to lick wine either! Is the wine that good? Go figure! It has a slightly spicy, slightly oaky, berry, grapey scent and it tastes pretty good too! This wine compares to some of the better Pinot Noirs that I have tasted including some top wines from Oregon & Washington that go for + $35-55 per bottle. The catch here is that you gotta get the 2001 year. I have tried other vintages but for some reason they are not as primo. It is a darn tootin good drinkin wine. The price ranges from $7-10 per bottle. Trader Joe's carries the Rex Goliath wines, so you might be able to find it there.

So ther you have it; two wines that are inexpensive and tasty. You can even drink them while watching playoff football. ( OK, ok again, only if you run out of beer) Enjoy, drink long & prosper
